March Music Madness

Ian, Anna, Lewis, and Jocelyn all played two piano solos each at the Searcy Beethoven Club music festival at Harding in early March.  We've participated for at least four years, and I have yet to remember to take pictures.  Next year!

The following weekend, Anna entered an original piano composition and one of her pieces from the Searcy festival in a competition held at UALR in Little Rock.  She enjoyed being selected to play her composition in the honors recital at the end of the event.  True to form, I didn't remember to take any pictures there, either.  This shot happened a day or two later.  However, I did manage some video that refuses to upload. ;)

Teen Pact Little Rock

The three eldest had a great time in February focusing on communication and government at a one day Political Communications workshop.  It was our first time to hang out at our state capitol, and we all learned a lot!

The Elixer by George Herbert

Teach me, my God and King,
In all things Thee to see,
And what I do in any thing,
To do it as for Thee.

Not rudely, as a beast,
To runne into an action;
But still to make Thee prepossest,
And give it his perfection.

A man that looks on glass,
On it may stay his eye;
Or if he pleaseth, through it pass,
And then the heav'n espy.

All may of Thee partake:
Nothing can be so mean,
Which with his tincture--"for Thy sake"--
Will not grow bright and clean.

A servant with this clause
Makes drudgery divine:
Who sweeps a room, as for Thy laws,
Makes that and th' action fine.

This is the famous stone
That turneth all to gold:
For that which God doth touch and own
Cannot for lesse be told.

Oh, What a Beautiful Morning!

God's handiwork out our front window captured by Eva.
